Nobody fails out. They get dropped.

Picture a student who is passing every class and working thirty hours a week to pay for them. One semester the bill comes up short by a few hundred dollars. The school cancels the registration. That is it. No failing grade, no bad semester, just a student who is suddenly not a student anymore.

This happens to our people constantly. First in the family to fill out the application. First to sit through orientation with nobody to call about it. Carrying parents who came here for a better life and who measure every semester by whether it was worth what it cost them.

Georgia State studied exactly these students. The ones dropped over an unpaid balance graduated at 32 percent. The ones whose balance somebody quietly covered graduated at 87 percent. The average amount was nine hundred dollars.

Nine hundred dollars. That is the entire distance between a family's first degree and a story about the year school did not work out.

We know them because we were them. Lambda Theta Phi has been the first Latin fraternity in this country since 1975, and the work has never changed: make sure the first one in the family is not the last. Six years of Nuestro Legado. Nine universities across Georgia and Tennessee. Every dollar aimed at the exact moment a semester almost ends early.

September 19th. Atlanta. 9:30 in the morning.

This is not a run for awareness. This is a run for the kid who is one bill away from being done.
